Happy May, fellow potted friends!

I’m writing this while it’s still April and sitting outside to do so. But I’m afraid this won’t be my story much longer. I could get used to this!

As we gear up for summer, I plan to get my summer flowers the first or second week of May. It may be spontaneous shopping as I watch the long range forecast.

This year, I’m thinking easy-care plants just like I’ve been teaching. Flowers with long blooms that don’t need deadheading. Vinca and Scaevola come to mind first I love Pentax and know they need deadheading but if they are the only flowers that need it, I can live with that.

I also have some Gazania seeds that I’ll put in. I should have already planted them but I am concerned about the beautiful Alyssum that’s still in those designated areas. I may just plant the seeds tomorrow and see how it goes.

Riley’s Book

Last week I introduced Riley to you as the main character of my next book. I thrilled to say that my beta readers love her (and the book) and I’m really excited about getting it published. There are still many steps to be taken but I hope we will be done by the end of May. I’ll definitely keep you posted.
